Let me start by saying that my Husband loves breakfast. We’ve had days when we would cook breakfast, for breakfast AND dinner. Oh you have too!!! Or thought about it. I don’t know what it is but sometimes having bacon and eggs for dinner is just tasty. “The Weirdest thing ever!” I thought the first time we did it. Yet, oh so yummy!

I said that to say this recipe is one of the BEST breakfast sandwich ideas I’ve ever had. It was such a fluke too. You will find that those “flukes” are usually the best meals ever

So today, I would like to introduce you to the Best, The Yummiest, The most fulfilling sandwich known to…well my family. You’ll know it to once you try it. You must tell me about it when you do too because I just have to know.

best breakfast sandwich

simple, delicious, hearty breakfast sandwich.

Is this a Low Calorie Breakfast Sandwich?

Absolutely not! I’m sorry! I am, however, 100% sure that you can make it low calorie. You may have to take away somethings or cook it a little differently. But the way I make it will ensure that it’s not low calorie. How many calories? Well, Let’s discuss that a little later. *wink*

So, lets discuss what you need to make such deliciousness.

In my sandwich you will need

2 slices of bread (of your choice) I use honey wheat.

2 slices of cheese (again, your choice) I use American, sometimes cheddar

2 eggs, fried hard. Sometimes for my husband the egg is still a little runny. But it is fried on both sides

1 hash brown patty

1 sausage of your choosing. Now this would be like a hot link or even a hot dog. Whatever brand you think has the best hot links

last but absolutely not least is the bacon. 4 slices

You definitely want this sandwich to be filled with all the things you love. I would go with the ingredients you love and then venture out.

Making a breakfast sandwich

I like to start with the bacon. I cut the bacon in half and then I, actually, put it in the microwave. I will tell you why. I like for my bacon to get crunchy. I’ve yet to get the crunch I like in a frying pan. So, I choose to cook it in the microwave. I put about 4 slices cut in half on a microwaveable bacon plate and cook them for about 5 to 6 minutes. If you are cooking for yourself only you can just use 2 slices.

The good thing about cooking it in the microwave is that if it has not reached the level of crunchy that you would like it to you can add a minute to your time.

I put the hash brown in a toaster oven for about 10 minutes on one side. Then I fry it a bit to make it crunchy. Then set aside.

While the hash brown is cooking, I slice my hot link in half and put the link in a frying pan with maybe 1 tablespoon of oil and fry that a bit. I use a link that has cheddar in it so I cook it just enough to brown it because I don’t want it to burn.

Once these ingredients are done, I, now, put my bread in the toaster oven. I set the timer to toast and when it is done I put a slice of cheese on both sides and leave it in the toaster while I make the eggs. Now, i make my bread two different ways. It depends on the day. Sometimes i make the bread, as if, i am making a grilled cheese sandwich. I just don’t put the slices together.

If i am being lazy the bread goes in the toaster, otherwise, i will do it the other way. Which, by the way, is where i but butter in a pan, melt it. Then throw the bread on top and let the bread soak up the butter on both sides and then cook the bread on both sides. It’s delightful this way. Sometimes though, I just want to be done cooking.

So, about these eggs. I am just not great with just making the eggs like a normal person. So, I purchased 2 egg rings that you can put in the frying pan to fry them. Initially, I thought that it would make them into a circle. However, I was wrong. It does do a good job of keeping them together and not having the eggs run all over the pot. I love them.

So I fry the eggs on both sides for maybe 3 minutes and Yay we are done with the cooking part of this Breakfast sandwich.

Let’s get ready to….. Assemble!!!

Get it? OK that wasn’t funny! Anyhow, here’s what I do.

I take the bread out of the toaster oven and put them on a plate. I like to lay my bacon first. Four half slices on one side. Then I put an egg, then hash brown, egg, sausage, then the other slice of bread. Press down a bit and there you have it. Thee Best Breakfast Sandwich, in my opinion, EVER!

Eat up!!

I really hope you try this! I know my recipe isn’t written like a normal recipe. Forgive me, I will perfect that for you, for sure. But I hope that you get it. Try it. At least once. I am almost positive you will fall in love. Almost. If you like those ingredients then it’s almost impossible for you not to.

This sandwich is good for anyone. If you have a family and you want to make something that everyone will love this is the way to go. This is really easy and simple.

It’s just like your normal Sunday breakfast recipe. What do you make? Bacon and/or sausage, eggs, hash brown, maybe grits, and biscuits or pancakes. Sometimes breakfast happens late morning and you don’t want a breakfast platter. This would be a wonderful Sunday brunch recipe idea.

Everyone loves a good breakfast sandwich. The worst thing is to want a yummy breakfast sandwich and getting one that it totally not up to par. That happened to me once. We went out to eat to a place that only sells breakfast and lunch. I ordered what sounded like the best breakfast sandwich ever. It was so tasteless. I was surprised by this because I mean how could eggs and bacon be tasteless. I mean, Bacon? How does that even happen.

This just motivated me to try one on my own. This was the result. I do hope you try it. Mostly, I hope you enjoy it. Please be sure to tell me what you thought of it. Even if you make changes, feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you did. I would love to try it.

Until next time!!
