There are times when I want to have a yummy, extra hearty full course meal. Then there are times when I am in a rush, or just want something super easy. This happened by mistake. This will probably be so easy for you, you’ll think something is missing. This is a super easy pulled pork sandwich recipe.
I don’t think you believe me but I promise you this is easier than you think. No, you will not have to smoke your pork for 24 hours, or grill it, or even bake it. I can’t wait until you read on about how easy this is. Oh wait! I forgot to mention SUPER DELICIOUS!!
These are Hawaiian roll sandwiches. I consider them to be sliders. Oh Mylanta! every time I have one I wonder how I missed out on these all my life. You WILL thank me later. I am almost positive. Memorial Day is coming and you may be having a BBQ or get together. This is the ultimate pulled pork appetizer.
What You’ll Need
You can make your own pulled pork, you can. But Costco has the best pulled pork. I eat it plain. No sauce, nothing, just by itself and I love it. I pair the leftover pulled pork with sauteed spinach and yellow onion and take that to lunch for days.
it’s the Kirkland Signatures Smoked Pulled Pork.
This just gets cooked in the microwave. You will want to just follow the directions on the container.
1 or 2 packages of Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. (there is enough pulled pork to make two)
6 slices of provolone cheese (or your favorite)
Your favorite BBQ sauce. (We use Sweet Baby Rays, this can be spruced up if you like)
Making the Yumminess!
So again, follow the instructions on the package to make the pulled pork.
Cut the bread in half, this is always a task for me.
You will need a bread Knife. I hold be bread up against a paper towel across my chest. For some reason, it’s difficult for me to do it sitting on the counter. But you will find the halfway mark and cut off the tops.
When you only have the bottoms you can spread the Pulled pork all over, cover the bread.
Lay your cheese over the pulled pork
You can now put the top layer back on.
This last time (which was today) that I made this, I melted abut 2 table spoons of butter and mixed it with about a teaspoon of minced garlic. I poured this on the tops. I just didn’t want my tops to be dry.
I, then, baked them for about 10 minutes. Just long enough to allow the cheese to melt.
Most of the time we just eat chips with these. Today I got fancy and cooked some waffle fries. I have even used wedges. I make Fry sauce for those.
I’ll tell you, Fry sauce is too easy. It is simply Ketchup and mayo. That is it. At least for the kids, For myself and Hubs, I throw in a little Cayenne Pepper.
You can pair this with whatever you want. But don’t make this meal more difficult than it needs to be. It’s too easy to have sides that have too many steps. So keep it simple.
You can also make this into a great BBQ pulled pork recipe. It is just a matter of using your favorite BBQ sauce. This particular pulled pork, doesn’t need any sauce in my opinion, though.
Too Easy, Right?
I know it’s super easy. If you are not a member of Costco, it’s OK. You can get pulled pork at any grocery store. I just happen to love the Kirkland brand. I haven’t been successful in making a good batch of pulled pork yet. When I have made pulled pork in the crock pot or Instant Pot it hasn’t had the same consistency of the Kirkland brand. Mine is always wet with BBQ sauce. Of course, my fault.
I will figure that out, and when I do, I will be sure to share it with you. I am an advocate finding recipes and trying them. Stick with me guys. I promise to continue to try new things and bring them to you. Sometimes you can switch up the recipe to satisfy your pallet or the pallet of your loved ones. It’s all a matter of trial and error.
Sometimes your mistake is you best dish ever. When you try this one, leave a comment and tell me what you thought. I am hoping you love this as much as we do.
